3 November 2005: For many reasons, newly submitted Speed Runs will no longer go on DVD (no new DVDs will be made). However, the DVDs available on this page will continue to be offered for the foreseeable future.
Now you can own most of your favorite Speed Runs on high-quality, standard video DVDs! The below serial numbers indicate either one- or two-disc volumes, each of which contain one or more runs. Each volume comes in its own hard case with special labels and even an Author's Commentary booklet, if applicable. (Click here to see sample pictures of the volumes.) The DVDs are region-free, which means they will play on any DVD player in the world. Note that you will still need to pick the correct video standard when you order, however: for customers in North America or Japan, this would probably be NTSC, whereas for customers elsewhere, it may be PAL. Consult your TV's manual for which video standard(s) it supports if you are not sure. Of course, the TV standard is irrelevant if you play the DVDs on your computer.
Please note that not all the Speed Runs on this site are candidates for these high-quality DVDs, because I must have an uncompressed (e.g. VHS or direct capture) copy of the run to convert it to DVD. If "Thanks to Nate for transferring from VHS" does not appear on the desired run's page, then it will probably not be available in the list below. Even if this is the case, you can still receive the run's files on CD or DVD. Please see the Data DVDs section below for more on this.
The volumes below cost $15 US each. There is no discount for bulk ordering at this time. I believe that $15 is a fair price, given the labor and resources involved in the creation of these volumes. If you cannot afford to pay this, please see the Data DVDs section below for another option. To see your total, simply check the boxes next to the volumes you want and look toward the bottom of the order form for your total. (If you have disabled JavaScript in your browser, or if you are using a browser without JavaScript support, you will need to estimate your subtotal yourself by multiplying 15 times the number of volumes you want.)
I can ship anywhere in the world. I will tell you your exact total, including shipping, as soon as I can after you submit the below form.
You may pay by PayPal, cash, or United States Postal Service money order. Otherwise, you can send the total to me via postal mail. Send USPS money order or well-concealed cash to this address:
Nathan Jahnke Metroid 2002 5204 50th St Apt D203 Lubbock, TX 79414 USA
(Note that 79414 is the postal code, while 5204 is the street number.)
If you're paying by PayPal, I'll respond to your form and give you your total and the email address I want you to send the money to. In any case, when I receive the money, I'll send you your volume(s) immediately.
Note: some of the pictures are very blurry; I apologize. The pictures are only meant to give you an idea of what the product looks like. Actual product may vary in appearance (probably for the better).
Unlike the high-quality volumes listed above, these are simply the files you can download from this site burned to one or more DVDs (Windoze/Mac compatible). These discs will actually play in DVD players marked as DivX compatible (so long as the run's files are indeed DivX AVIs and not Windoze Media or some other useless format). Also note that High Quality DivX files will not play in DivX-compatible DVD players due to their bitrate being too high (Normal/Medium and Low Quality should work). However, they should play fine on your computer if you copy them to your local hard drive before trying to play them.
To request a Data DVD, please email me and state which run(s) you would like. My rate for Data DVDs is $5 US for the first DVD (including shipping to anywhere in the world) plus $2 for each additional DVD (so 3 DVDs would cost $9). You are limited to 10 Data DVDs per order, so please do not request every run on the site (as of 5 January 2006, all of the runs in Medium Quality totaled some 80 Gigabytes, while all of the runs in all qualities totaled over 500 Gigabytes). I can fit approximately 4.37 GB of files on one DVD. If you see that the run you want has multiple qualities, don't forget to specify the desired quality in your email. Once you have informed me which run(s) you would like, I will calculate how many DVDs the order will require and reply to your email with a total.
