If I understand this right, does all this stuff mean that it can be used for sequence breaking, and thus speed running, and thus a whole brand new "generation" of SM runs? If so then this is pretty cool.

Not really speed running as much, if I'm reading this right. It sounds like the NBMB vid before, where you end up running through the same room for like minutes before you get out. Plus Radix won't like it...

I don't know if it was the murder beam but being under the statue causes the room to be really glitchy (space/time in first tourain room)

The elevator still does work without having killed the bosses so if you can get below the statue you should still be able to get into tourain.

You know, after thinking awhile, I find it ironic that the item that was most useless in the game is now probably the most useful item glitch-wise.(x-ray) :P

Roxinos, if Kej figures out plasma before draygon space/time would be possible and would remove the percentage limit on NBMB completely, granted you still wouldn't be able to collect a few items.

Right now, I'm just trying to explain the basics, mainly how the game works. Questions and criticism welcome, I really don't know what parts of this are understandable and what make entirely no sense.

Oh, and the link at the bottom is to TileView, a program I use to be able to actually see what's outside the rooms, written especially for zsnes savestates. I'll explain later how to use it in detail, if you're curious now though, run it as 'tmv -g 10002 metroid3.zs#' and press u when it loads up.
Yes, it's DOS, but it works well and I like it. :P

what other places could this be used in.I been tryin to get the energy tank or varia suit near kraid but no luck so far although if you can do the wall jump off open door near there i spose u might be able to nab the energy tank but i cant get it to work for me i just go through door as normal.Is there a special way to make you get stuck inside the door or is it random?
Im on 78% atm cant find anythin new so any ideas where this could be used to get new stuff?
Also im not sure (prolly posted somwhere) if it is possible to get the grav suit b4 phantoon if you use the door on the way to the 2 missiles.Or cant u get the grav suit at all.ive geard a few say its an event item so not there until you kill phantoon.
Could someone make a zmv of the door hop so i can see how to wall jump off of it.

Let me just say that Kej and I have both collected the e-tank in Kraid's lair already, old news. :P

So with that, it is currently possible to collect 80% of items in a NBMB. :)

4% is in Croc's lair. And the 1% e-tank.

Also, I have also found a method to do the wall-climb without crystal flashing. It is easy, just wall jump the transition blocks when you are about to hit the ground and keep holding the direction of the door. You should be standing in the door. Proceed to climb.

Now, I don't think that the Gravity suit is collectable due to it not appearing until Phantoon dies. Also, Varia suit I don't think is collectable for the time being because Kraid's interaction sets Samus' y position to where Kraid is.

Ummm. Kej has been playing around with mother brain and has found out killing Mother Brain does not set off the ending sequence. Apparently, the room after Mother Brain starts the sequence. Kej will have to explain it once he is done with his FAQ.

I'd recommend everyone to read that FAQ if you want the slightest chance of exploring out-of-room areas.

Also, about getting into Tourian early, I don't think it's possible going from the smoke room to statue room, but maybe if you go from pirate corridor to smoke room to statue room it will work. Kej will have to try that I think until I learn how to use tileviewer. (or when I get around to trying)

I just ate barbeque ribs. They were pretty good. It was a Swansan TV dinner. It also had potatoes and corn. The potatoes were kinda cold and the corn was dry. I had some bread with it. I find when you put rib in the bread, it doesn't waste all the barbeque sauce because the bread soaks it up. Of course it gets messy, so I eat it all with a fork. Well, the potatoes get VERY hard to eat with a fork when they are around the edges, so I just scoop the last bits with my fingers and then wash my hands.

I'll do more work on Super Metroid later.

Still not great at it but for any1 who cannot do this its easier if u stand very close to the transition blocks and move forward only a few pixles let go of forward and jump this makes u spin but you are moving up not forward (this is also the trick i used to do suitless maridia run).
When you are moving simply wall jump away from door and you should go through

That's what I personally find easiest, at least. You can try spin jumping toward the door, and press away at the last second, or something along those lines.

I think what you said was what he meant. I guess it wasn't so clear though. I dunno.

Did you really do a suitless Maridia run? Seems pretty difficult. I'd think you would have to give up because of the length of time it would take to get there and just go grab the Grav suit to beat Draygon. I don't even know how you'd do that....

A suitless maridia run is hard but not impossible the only hard part is killing dreygon and getting out without the grav suit i just used kejs tip.

I nearly nabbed the spring ball last nite i got up the first bit so i spose if i could do trick again i could get up second bit as well.
What i done was to get to area where u cannot jump up as only 2 sq big lay a bomb crouch use xray force stand then jump and morph really fast just b4 bomb went off and the bomb made me jump about 5 pixels just enuf to get me up but then i couldnt do it on second bit i think it was either a 1 off glitch or u need dam good timing on the jumpin and morphing ( like on the super missile up death mountain) to get and if i get it ill post.

At this time, not even turbo can make that jump in the Spring Ball room. BTW, it's impossible for a bomb to propell you underwater when you don't have the gravity suit.

I've thought about force standing and jumping crouch. I tried it and it doesn't give you any extra height. Kej and I have also tried to climb through this room to a repeat and he got stuck below the sand. :P

Good luck on getting it. It's not possible in any of the ways you have mentioned though.

And yeah, the new SOAD album is pretty good. I went to their concert in D.C. a few weeks ago.
