Reloading your Missiles quickly is done much like possible rapid missile, but instead of pressing two buttons simultaneously, they need to be pressed at different times. Make sure you have a good view of your Beam Weapon.

To begin, press the Y Button to fire a Missile and then the A Button so that your Beam Weapon starts to return to its neutral state. But, half way through that step (About two seconds), fire another Missile. This will cause your Beam Weapon to reload much faster than normal, allowing you to save about a second or two. If done with exact timing, your Beam Weapon can sometimes look as if it were a drill. Unfortunately, this trick is not fast enough to do a noticeably large amount of damage, or cut a good amount of time.
