The SCAN format describes scannable objects in the Metroid Prime series, dictating things like what resource to use for the scan text, whether the scan is important, what model to display in the logbook, and many others. There are two documented variations of this format:
- SCAN (Metroid Prime) is used in Metroid Prime.
