also for low% or hyper runs, 1st form AU makes it very easy for you to regain energy by shooting the 'purple-target-plumes' that allow you to damage the AU to a point where it will be stunned allowing you to rip off its skull.  The target-shaped-purple-tentacle-things drop energy, as do the samus clones, as do the pink orbs that AU launches at you once its been damaged to <50% Once you know you have one more round with the 1st form AU, take the time to just shoot the tentacles and the dark samus clones for energy.  (the AU has 5 rounds in hypermode--unless someone knows of a better strat)

When I finally beat hyper-mode, I made it to AU with 8 energy tanks, and my bar was almost all the way yellow, but it didn't take long to refill energy to the point where I started 2nd form AU with a clear energy bar.  I ended the final round with more than 1/2 of my energy remaining.  I had 8 tanks.  This leads me to believe that if I can beat the game with a 4 theoretical tanks, than so could someone who has much more skill than me. (most of you).

Since the 2nd form of AU doesn't give you any energy refills (except at the very beginning of the fight) stocking up during 1st form is crucial
