In Incubation Vault 02, you can pick up the Shock Coil while skipping most of the Incubation Vault teleporter maze and fighting. Near the Shock Coil force field, stand on top of a small pickup crate, enter morph ball mode, and do a DBJ to reach the catwalk above. It gives just enough height, and if you think you won't quite make it, pushing against the edge of the catwalk may allow you to climb on. From there it is a simple matter to walk over to and collect the Shock Coil, as shown in the video.

You can use the portal to leave, but to scan the Electro Voldrum for a 100% run, you must kill the Crash Pillar.
