WAVE BEAM BEFORE SPACE JUMP

(Thanks: Amasawa, DEVILBIT)

Required: Triple Bomb Jump

Using some well-timed bomb jumping techniques, the wave beam can be acquired before getting the space jump powerup. This is not a time-saving trick unless you excel at bomb jumping, but it is a good way to sharpen your bomb jumping skills.

At the Phendrana Shorelines, there are 2 methods that can be used to access the Chozo Ice Temple. Here they are:

Method 1: Jump out to the iceberg beneath the low floating platform near the Chozo Ice Temple cliff. Using a well-executed triple bomb jump morph, propel Samus up to the floating platform, where it's a short jump away from the cliff.

Method 2: If you're having trouble making the tbjm onto the floating platform, you can use a slightly slowed-down version of the triple bomb jump morph technique to reach the Chozo Ice Temple cliff from the ground that's on the left side of it as you're facing the Temple. Double bomb jump out of the shallow water on its left side to reach that spot, and then face diagonally into the corner that the left side of the Chozo Ice Temple cliff makes with the back wall. Morph into a ball and adjust your camera angle as best you can so that pushing up on the control stick makes Samus roll in place. While continually pushing upward on the control stick, execute a tbjm to reach the cliff above. You will notice that pressing into the corner like this slows Samus' fall through the air somewhat, so adjust your timing for the bomb jumping accordingly. Note that when Samus falls to the ground, the morph ball will roll down the slanted ground a little bit -- this is normal and can be accounted for with some practice.

Once you reach the cliff, head into the Chozo Ice Temple and take care of any enemies so you can make the climb uninterrupted. Double bomb jump onto the block on the right side, then double bomb jump morph onto the next highest block against the back wall of the room. From there, aim down at the ground slightly and lock position with the L trigger, then make a regular jump to the dish by aiming toward the statue's arm, which is slightly lower than the dish itself and will allow Samus just enough leeway to make the jump.

From the dish, make a well-executed dbjm to the next block. It may be helpful to press toward the edge of the dish a little in order to shorten the distance required to land the jump successfully, instead of performing the dbjm in the center of the dish where the snow makes a more level surface. Once you land the jump, follow the block around as it turns around to the left, and cross the gap to the next block with a regular jump, again locking position with the L trigger while looking down slightly so you can leap from the edge as late as you can.

After leaping the gap, double bomb jump up to the next block, turn left, and double bomb jump up again. Turn left, and dbjm up to the platform in front of you that the two ice parasites are crawling around, after introducing them to Samus' arm cannon. Turn to the right to face the back wall, and use a double bomb jump to reach the highest ledge that runs along the back of the room. Turning left, you can see the hallway that leads to the wave beam. Since the ledge Samus is standing on is high above the floor of the hallway, she can move to the end of the ledge near the hallway and leap to her goal easily with a regular jump.
