Other: Thermal Visor Glitch

Collecting the Thermal Visor before the Super Missiles means you must climb up Observatory without the aid of the platforms activated during the holo-projector startup process. Use a Dash Jump to reach the top of the room, then a very long-distance L-Jump (or R-Jump, shown in the above-right video) to cross the room and head out to collect the Artifact of Elder.
Unfortunately, if you have the Japanese, European or North American Player's Choice version of the game, you will need to lure a Space Pirate over to where the Scan Point is, then quickly jump across the room and use the Pirate to Dash Jump from, while he's shooting at you. This is obviously more difficult than using the Scan Visor.
If you wish to collect the Super Missile upgrade, use a Ghetto Jump off of the entryway to reach the first of three ledges as shown below.
