Skipping the Spider Ball: Research Access

Notes:
- Space Jump from the floor panel in the entrance archway onto the sloped part of the arch. Now, use the slope of the arch to Ghetto Jump up onto the rightmost metal column. You are aiming to land on the corner of the "box" directly above the first rotating obstacle.
- The next part can be a bit tricky. Up and to your right, about a space jump's height away, is a small rock that sticks out of the wall. The part of the rock that you can stand on is very small and it's easy to slide off after you land. One fairly consistent method for getting up there is to align your cursor about halfway between the middle and right edge of the column you are standing on, then jump out to the left, and at the peak of your jump, jump back to the right, releasing the control stick just as you expect to hit the wall.
- Next, jump onto the second rotating obstacle as it passes over the spider ball track. You won't have much time, so from here, jump back and then forward onto the corner of the "box" just below and to the right of the final ledge, and then to the ledge itself.
- In the Japanese, European and Australian versions of the game, there is electricity in this room that damages you if you try to pass through it. However, you can still at least descend the room without the Spider Ball. Simply jump out into the chasm, then Space Jump back to the Spider Ball track to line yourself up with the holes in the turning blocks, as shown in the video below.
